Viewing your loved one at home
Many years ago, it was quite natural that a loved one who had died, would stay at their home until the day of the funeral. An undertaker never had a "Chapel of Rest", and so viewing a deceased person at their home was normal. Since that time, the funeral profession has changed, and for that matter so have many common practices. However, there will be times when families still favour the need for viewing their loved ones in the privacy and comfort of their own homes.
The Searson Family Funeral Service openly support families who wish to have their loved ones rest at home. We have the flexibility and ability to provide a sustainable, aesthetic and comforting period of rest.
Your loved one can rest on their bed, in their own room, or in a more formal room in the coffin. We provide the technical support through the use of Hygienic Treatment, and monitor any changes that may take place on a daily basis. We do encourage families to allow their loved one to come to our facilities initially for preparation before returning them home as soon as possible.
Should you feel that having your loved one rest at home meets your individual needs, speak with a member of our family. We will do all we can to make things happen the way you want them.
At an awkward and difficult time like this, you can always speak to one of our family members who will be sympathetic and help you to deal with organising your loved ones funeral.TALK TO US
