The Searson Family
Our family funeral business is very much a family affair. You will have the assurance that the service you receive from the Searson Family Funeral Service will be tailored to meet YOUR needs, not a service in line with company policy. Ultimately, the only people we are answerable to are you, and that really does make a huge difference at a difficult and vulnerable time.
The man in control, although not necessarily seen as being so true by the ladies in the business! Andy is a qualified Funeral Director and Embalmer with almost thirty years of service in the funeral profession.
Andy oversees the many business activities, but primarily takes responsibility for the care and wellbeing of all the guests who come into our care. In addition, Andy is also a Funeral Celebrant, officiating the majority of funerals for the families we service.
Behind every man is a good woman and how very true that is of Debi. Very much the backbone of the business, Debi looks after our Copnor Road Funeral Home, tends to make the majority of funeral arrangements and carries out the day to day administration.
In addition to all that Debi also has her hands full with running the family home.
James is also Andy’s son and has been with the business since day one. He tends to help out in the offices, does varied duties, acts as Andy’s errand boy and looks after the office when the family are out on funerals.
James also carries out after hours duties and often gets woken at 2.00am.
Matt is Andy’s son and is the latest addition to the family business, having been in college for the past three years.
Matthew now helps out behind the scenes, assists Andy in the many mortuary duties and also acts as a bearer on funerals.
Lily is Andy’s niece and helps look after our Leigh Park Funeral Home. Lily is a qualified teacher, although decided to take six months out to work in the family business and has been with us for six years.
She works very hard and helps support families using the Leigh Park offices.
Andy’s mother now enjoying her retirement years working in the Searson Family Funeral Service business.
