THE SEARSON FAMILY

We are the Searson family! In a time when large corporations are buying more and more funeral businesses, we take massive pride in knowing that we are precisely what we claim to be, a family business. Here are the staff members you will meet when visiting our funeral homes, the individuals behind the services we provide.

ANDY SEARSON

Andy has been in the Funeral Service for more than forty-three years: a QUALIFIED Funeral Director, Embalmer, Funeral Service Manager and a qualified member of the British Institute of Funeral Directors. Andy is also a Funeral Celebrant and officiates at most of our funerals. Additionally, he oversees the day-to-day operations of our Design and Print Department. He also manages our Health and Safety, holding a Diploma in COSHH. Andy brings a wealth of practical experience to the business, and his knowledge and expertise are fundamental in meeting every family's expectations.

DEBI SEARSON

Andy's wife, Debi, dedicates most of her time to looking after families at our Copnor Road Funeral Home. In addition, she will often be the friendly voice at the end of the telephone should you contact us outside of working hours. Debi has gained twenty years of experience in funeral service. She has an adhering personality, being calm, relaxed, and empathetic, just what you need at a sad and difficult time.

MATT SEARSON

Matt is Andy's son. He will often be seen assisting at funerals, but his primary role is that of an Embalmer. Matt is responsible for all guests in our care, a fundamental role that requires a great deal of trust and responsibility. Matt has gained twenty years of experience in funeral service. He has been with the company from the beginning and understands the importance of the role he performs.

ALFIE SEARSON

Alfie is Andy and Debi's son. His new role within the business is Assistant Funeral Director and Conductor, where he helps support families and staff on funeral days. Alfie also supports Matt in the provision of Mortuary Care and forms part of our out-of-hours services. Alfie's seven years in funeral service have seen him develop into an essential link in delivering the range of services we provide.

ABBY MEDWAY

Abby is Debi's daughter; her role is Funeral Director, primarily based at our Copnor office, although she is also proactive in supporting our Leigh Park branch. Abby has been in the funeral service for ten years, during which time she has gained a wealth of knowledge. Her friendly, relaxed personality helps her provide informal and comforting services to our families.

BONNIE GOSTAGE

Bonnie is a Funeral Director. She has a wealth of experience and helps look after families at our Leigh Park Funeral Home. Bonnie has been in the funeral service for more than ten years. Her expertise, coupled with a motivation to provide care to those in need, has been appreciated by hundreds of families.

SHANNON LASHLY

Shannon is Debi's daughter; she is one of our Florists, working for 'Flowers at Jasmines' and will be a familiar voice to those ordering their tributes.

THOMAS SEARSON

Tom is Andy's son ... he's a Chef! However, he's a part of the family and helps out when needed. Tom adds to the familiarity; he is another Searson helping to support the business in whatever way he can.

JULIA SEARSON

Julia is Alfie's wife. She is our Funeral Administrator, working behind the scenes to support the Funeral Director and assist in the day-to-day planning of our funerals. Julia also supports our Floral Department.

SUNNY SEARSON

The baby of the family. He doesn't serve much of a purpose, but he is cute and rather adorable!
